Barbara Banthien resides and works in California

Barbara Banthien was born in 1950. She studied at the Maryland Art Institute in Baltimore and worked as a freelance illustrator for twenty years. In 1994 she left that field and new devotes her time to painting wildlife. She lives in Tiburon, California.

Sonny Boy was quite regal and luckily, he was willing to pose for me.  His bright colors and bold patterns were a real challenge -- it took me the better part of a year to get him finished."
