Award winning artist, Chris Wozniak, has been developing his unique style of painting since his high school years in Northeast lower Michigan. A degree in Commercial Art from Ferris State College fine-tuned his given talent. That talent, and total fascination with nature, is the catalyst that has inspired Chris’ creative energy. Since 1978, when a friend introduced him to decoy and bird carving, the enhancement of creating intricate feathers started Wozniak’s imagination working overtime. Since 1978, he has designed and created several original paintings, may which have been reproduced into prints and posters. He also has entered several art competitions and has done well in all of them.
In 1990 and 1995 he was named Michigan Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year. He did the Sponsor print for them in 1998. The Michigan United Conservation Club named him their Artist of the Year in 1998 with a painting of Redpols. Chris has several blue ribbons for decoy painting competitions also. Wozniak’s love and respect for all wildlife, and his added enthusiasm with nature, continue to inspire him. Chris has recently retired from Verizon, and with a little more extra time now, hopes to spend it painting and carving. Chris can be found in his home studio with his wife Julie, two cats and his brushes doing what he loves best.
