Each month we select a painting or sculpture which stands out as a quality piece. It's not easy to pick one piece of art from our pages of several hundred works because we are fortunate to host so many wonderful artists and their marvelous work. Our choice this month is the digital painting, Heron Flight by Chris Vest of Colorado. This is a wonderful dramatic action piece made so by the position of the heron, the other birds in flight (geese) in the upper right hand corner, and the hazy sun in the background. Add to this the bold strokes of color in the piece. "Digital painting" is new due to advances in digital photography and computer technology. Mr. Vest is also a patient and skillful nature photographer as his work on our pages testify. Beginning with a digital photograph, Chris applies his computer's digital paint brush, rendering his facinating final product. Mill House Gallery
