Limited and Open Edition Canvas Giclée Prints
Manuel Sosa, Biologist and Wildlife Artist Residing Outside Madrid, Spain
Brought to you by Mill House Gallery

The Mill House Gallery is very pleased to bring you the wonderful work of Manuel Sosa, a highly talented artist who is also an environmentalist and conservationist in his country of Spain. Originalbirdart.com began exhibiting Mr. Sosa's original oil paintings in early 2002 and quickly sold most of his available inventory with more than one collector being interested in the same painting. The painting shown above, "Ermine," is one of those paintings where more than one buyer was interested, so we decided to offer Mr. Sosa's giclée canvas reprints.  Mr. Sosa is offering 48 different canvas prints of his acclaimed works, 18 are limited edtions of 250 each.

Mr. Sosa's style may be characterized as "loose" and "painterly" as opposed to highly detailed or "tight."  For example, the lichens he has painted on the stones in the "Ermine" up close look like "blotches" of oil paint, but when one steps back five or more feet, the effect is clearly discernible as to what Mr. Sosa intended them to be.  That, Mr. Sosa says, is how paintings are to be viewed.  All of the prints we offer on the following two pages are all done with this in mind.   Each print is personally signed by Mr. Sosa, and mailed from his studio and gallery outside Madrid, Spain.

The Mill House Gallery believes Mr. Sosa has tremendous potential for making a significant mark on wildlife art and art in general worldwide, and we wish him the best of success!  We invite you to visit his exhibit of originals on Originalbirdart.com (see link below.)

All originals are actually reproduced directly to canvas using large scale, commercial ink jet printers with archival ink. (Giclées or Iris Prints).  This actually enhances the appearance of the reproduction giving it texture and the feel of an original. (For more information on Giclée - click here)

After printing the image on canvas, Mr. Sosa signs and numbers (limited editions) the print and applies a clear coat of finish.

Mounting the canvas giclée print in preparation for framing: Each print is carefully rolled up and placed in a sturdy tube for mailing. The giclée will have a large enough blank margin around the image for attaching the print to a wood stretcher, or the print may be glued to a board (masonite or foamcore). Check with your local gallery or frame shop and discuss your options with them. The finished framed giclée will look very much like an original oil painting. Email will be sent to Mill House Gallery
